I am currently attending SUNY JCC for a degree in Criminal Justice. I made this website as part of my Criminology final. When given options for the final project early on, my professor mentioned making a website. The goal of the project was to help us reach an audience and leave our typical comfort zone. I had never even considered making a website prior to that and liked the prospect of learning something new. I find serial killers to be an interesting topic. When considering my final project I knew that I would explore that type of criminal. Serial killers are often glamorized and romanticized. That is not my intent here. I will be going into detail regarding their backstory and lives.  I do not intend to include the graphic descriptions but I will not omit details because they are uncomfortable. It is my hope that I can shed light  on why these individuals did the things they did. I will use sociological theories to explore their motivations and methods. For whoever may see this website I hope to shed light on these individuals in a way that differs from the norm. I will look at them as people and explore potential reasons for their behavior. It is my hope that it will strip the sensationalized aspect of serial killers, and instead highlight how we can help spot and help people on that path. I suspect there will be many patterns uncovered in my research. If you ever have any specific requests please submit them. I will be working my way down the list of the deadliest killers, but I certainty can cover anyone I have enough information on to study. Thanks!
